Tapping Activity

Stress Evaluation: If you are feeling stress or anxiety, use a 0-10 scale to describe how high the tension is in your mind and body. Take several deep breaths and then prepare to do a tapping activity to calm yourself and release the inner tension. You will likely want a quite and private space, but the activity can be performed almost anywhere.

Tapping Activity: Tap on a sequence of 8 specific meridian points with two or three fingertips, moving from the head down the body, and from left side to right side. Do this gently and repeat tapping on each point 5 times. Dont forget to breath in and out while repeating a mantra related to the issue (e.g., "this work stress leaves my body easility"). The sequence of points are:

  • Eyebrow (inner edge)
  • Side of the eye (on the bone)
  • Under the eye (on the bone)
  • Under the nose (between nose and upper lip)
  • Chin (between lower lip and chin)
  • Collarbone (just below the ridge)
  • Under the arm (about four inches below the armpit)
  • Top of the head (crown)

Post Activity Evaluation: after completing the sequence, rate the intensity of the issue again on the 0-10 scale. If the number is still high, repeat the process until the intensity decreases to a manageable level or zero.
